Nitish Kumar Faces Trust Vote on February 10

Bihar CM Kumar to Test Majority in Assembly, BJP Eyes Speaker Post

Nitish Kumar’s NDA government in Bihar, formed after a dramatic shift from the INDIA alliance, will face a crucial trust vote on February 10, amid expectations of a turbulent assembly session and BJP’s plans to secure the speaker’s position.

JAMSHEDPUR – Significant events are imminent as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepares to take the seat of assembly speaker in the Bihar legislative assembly.

This action follows internal deliberations in which Nand Kishore Yadav and Amrendra Pratap Singh are regarded as the most probable contenders for the position.

In the impending assembly session, the NDA administration, which was recently reformed under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will face a formidable challenge.

Given the twelve-day duration of the session, it is anticipated that the government will deliver the state budget on February 12th.

An especially contentious issue that is expected to increase in the assembly is the speakership, which is presently occupied by Awadh Bihari Choudhary, an MLA from the RJD.

Choudhary is confronted with mounting pressure to tender his resignation in the wake of the NDA’s motion of no confidence.

The BJP and Kumar’s JD (U) form the new administration, which signifies Kumar’s completion of his ninth tenure as chief minister.

Kumar’s shift in allegiance took place in less than eighteen months subsequent to his severance from the BJP.

His unanticipated return to the NDA constituted a substantial political reversal.

The first significant test for the government lead by Kumar will be the assembly trust vote, scheduled for February 10.

As per the official announcement made by the Parliamentary Affairs Department, this corresponds with the governor’s customary address that commences the budget session.
