MEDININAGAR – The Municipal Corporation conducted a camp in Akadahi village, Jharkhand, to formalize household water connections.
In Akadahi village of Chainpur block’s Jhariwa Panchayat, the Municipal Corporation organized a camp to assist residents in formalizing their household water connections. Previously, the Shahpur Water Supply Scheme, which serves this area, was managed by the Panchayat. However, in recent years, the Municipal Corporation has taken over its operations.
During the camp, 29 residents registered their water connections with the corporation and paid their water taxes up to December. Municipal Manager Dilip Kumar and Pipeline Inspector Chhotelal Gupta were present to oversee the process. They encouraged other residents to complete their registrations by Saturday at the corporation’s office.
The administration plans to conduct door-to-door inspections to ensure compliance. Legal action will be taken against unregistered connections.
This initiative aligns with the broader efforts under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide tap water supply to rural households in Jharkhand. As of now, 17.20% of rural homes in the state have access to tap water. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
