BHUBANESWAR – Sergio Lobera, the head coach of Odisha FC, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to defend their title in the upcoming Kalinga Super Cup final against East Bengal FC.
Odisha FC, after defeating Mumbai City FC in the semi-final, became the first team to reach consecutive finals in the tournament.
The team, known as the Kalinga Warriors, has been on an impressive unbeaten streak of 15 games, leading in all four matches of the current Kalinga Super Cup.
Lobera acknowledged the challenge posed by East Bengal FC, who are also unbeaten in the competition, but remained confident in his players’ abilities and strong mentality.
Carles Cuadrat, head coach of East Bengal FC, is equally enthusiastic about facing Lobera’s team. The two Spanish coaches have a history of intense matchups in Indian football, including the 2018-19 Indian Super League final.
Cuadrat praised Lobera’s tactical expertise and anticipates a special encounter in terms of tactics in the upcoming final.
Both teams have been performing strongly, with East Bengal FC defeating Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the Group A decider and Jamshedpur FC in the knockout stages.
