Jamshedpur Gears Up for Republic Day Celebrations with Enhanced Security Measures

Jamshedpur is set to host a grand district-level Republic Day celebration at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, with Minister Banna Gupta leading the flag-hoisting ceremony.

JAMSHEDPUR – Preparations are in full swing for the district-level Republic Day celebration at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, with Minister Banna Gupta set to preside over the flag-hoisting ceremony at 9:05 AM.

Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and SSP Kishor Kaushal recently inspected the final parade rehearsal, ensuring everything is primed for the grand event.

The parade will feature a JAP-6 unit, three district police force platoons, including auxiliary police, a platoon of district home guards, two NCC platoons, and Scout and Guide platoons.

Rehearsals for the parade have been ongoing since January 20, highlighting the dedication to perfecting the event.

DC Manjunath Bhajantri also reviewed the arrangements at the main event site, expressing confidence in the success of the Republic Day festivities.

Flag hoisting ceremonies will take place across all government offices and buildings, underscoring the significance of the day.

Officials including District Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, City SP Mukesh Lunayat, and others were present during the site inspection.

In light of the Republic Day celebrations, the district police are on high alert, conducting checks within the city and initiating search and rescue operations in remote areas to track down Naxalites.

Vigilance has been ramped up to ensure the safety of the celebrations, with thorough inspections of vehicles and scrutiny of hotels and lodges.

The police are also vetting the backgrounds of recently released prisoners to prevent any criminal activities.

Tatanagar Railway Station is also under heightened security in anticipation of Republic Day.

RPF and GRP have implemented stringent security measures, including metal detectors for passenger screening and the deployment of the Dog Squad.

Rail SP Rishabh Jha has stated that comprehensive security patrols are being conducted in and around the station premises, catering to the safety of over 50,000 daily commuters.
