Jamshedpur Ready for Vote Counting Day with Tight Security and Extensive Preparations

Political parties await results as counting of votes for six constituencies set to begin on Tuesday.

Administration ensures robust arrangements for a smooth and transparent counting process.

JAMSHEDPUR – With only a few days left before the vote counting exercise for the Lok Sabha General Election 2024, the district administration of Jamshedpur is fully prepared for the crucial day.

The counting of votes is scheduled to start at 8 AM on Tuesday, with trends expected to emerge by 10 AM.

Comprehensive Preparations

The administration has trained approximately 300 supporting staff, observers, and micro-observers to ensure an efficient and orderly counting process. The counting for the six constituencies of Baharagora, Ghatshila, Potka, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, and Jugsalai will take place at Jamshedpur Co-operative College.

Strict Security Measures

Strict security arrangements have been made at the strong room where EVMs are stored. Party agents have been instructed to arrive at the counting center before 7:30 AM, and their movements will be restricted. Counting personnel are prohibited from carrying mobile phones and other electronic devices inside the strong room.

Ananya Mittal, District Election Officer (DEO) of East Singhbhum, stated that only candidates, their election or counting agents, public servants on election duty, and persons authorized by the Election Commission would be permitted to enter the counting centers.

Counting Rounds and Security

The Jugsalai Assembly seat will have a maximum of 23 rounds of counting due to its 318 booths, while Baharagora will have 16 rounds with 225 booths. The returning officer confirmed that stringent security measures are in place at the counting center to prevent any untoward incidents.

Political Parties and Supporters

As the counting day approaches, candidates and their supporters are speculating about their chances. The results, sealed in EVMs stored under tight security, have kept everyone on edge.

Anil Modi, spokesperson for the district BJP, expressed confidence, stating that, based on the support they received from the voters, they were optimistic about their chances of success.

Law and Order Measures

To maintain law and order, Section 144 has been enforced across the district. June 4 will be a dry day, with all government-licensed liquor shops closed and strict monitoring to prevent illegal liquor sales. Legal actions will be taken to uphold these regulations.

Ensuring a Smooth Process

The comprehensive preparations and strict protocols established by the District Election Officer aim to ensure that the vote counting process is conducted smoothly, transparently, and fairly.
