East Singhbhum Declares Dry Day for Vote Counting on June 4

District Administration Bans Sale and Distribution of Intoxicating Substances

The East Singhbhum district has announced a complete ban on the sale, serving, and distribution of intoxicating liquor and similar substances on June 4, the day of vote counting, to ensure a peaceful and orderly environment during the electoral process.

JAMSHEDPUR – The East Singhbhum district administration has proclaimed June 4, the day designated for vote counting, as a dry day throughout the region, as per an order issued by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal.

The directive, aimed at maintaining peace and order during the counting process, mandates the closure of all retail product shops, hotels, restaurants, bars, and other licensed premises on the specified date.

Furthermore, the order strictly prohibits the sale, serving, or distribution of any spirituous or intoxicating liquor or similar substances in all establishments, including hotels, restaurants, clubs, eateries, kitchens, and shops.

The ban extends to both private and public places within the district, with authorities instructed to ensure strict compliance with the order.

"We are committed to providing a conducive environment for the democratic process," stated a senior official from the district administration. "This measure will help prevent any potential disturbances and maintain public order during the crucial vote-counting period."

Violators of the order will face legal consequences, and the district administration has appealed to all citizens and business owners to fully cooperate with the authorities to facilitate a smooth and peaceful electoral process.

The decision highlights the East Singhbhum administration’s dedication to upholding the integrity of the elections and ensuring a fair and transparent outcome.
