The conflict began with raised slogans and quickly escalated to vandalism of the AJSU candidate’s camp.
Police responded by deploying water cannons to disperse the agitated crowd.
The situation was brought under control after the police intervened.
Officers resorted to lathi-charging and firing tear gas shells to manage the agitated supporters.
Bokaro SP Pujya Prakash personally arrived at the scene to oversee the situation.
SP Pujya Prakash explained that excessive enthusiasm among supporters led to the clashes.
As a result, several AJSU and BJP workers were injured.
Reports indicate that more than a dozen workers sustained injuries during the confrontation.
The incident highlights the volatile atmosphere surrounding the Giridih Lok Sabha elections.
