IMD’s Yellow Alert: Warning Of Rain, Thunderstorm And Strong Winds Till June 6 In Many Districts Including West Singhbhum.

Jamshedpur/Ranchi: The weather patterns in Jharkhand have been changing continuously. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for most of the districts of the state including West Singhbhum, predicting the possibility of rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds till June 6. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to remain alert and stay in safe places during bad weather.

The weather is going to be active in Jharkhand for the next few days. IMD has predicted rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds till June 6 in most of the districts of the state including the capital Ranchi. Yellow alert has been issued regarding this.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain was recorded at many places in the state during the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall of 39.4 mm occurred in Mazgaon in West Singhbhum district. Apart from this, 30 mm rainfall was recorded in Tantnagar, 26.5 mm in Namkum, 12.8 mm in Dhalbhumgarh, 12 mm in Manjhari, 11 mm in Sisai, 9.6 mm in Chaibasa, 5 mm in Ranchi and 2.6 mm in Bokaro Thermal.

The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in most parts of the state except the north-western districts on June 1. On June 2, 3 and 4, except the north-western and northern districts, there may be rain along with lightning and strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in the rest of the areas.

There is a possibility of strong wind accompanied by thunderstorm at some places in the north-eastern and south-eastern parts of the state on June 5. On June 6 also, the weather is expected to be bad with thunder, lightning and strong winds in many areas.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid standing in open fields, under trees and electric poles and stay in safe places during bad weather.
