Team Tunnu Sweeps RO Election for Tata Workers Union Polls

Uncontested Victory for Team Tunnu in Tata Steel Union RO Election Phase

In a remarkable development, Team Tunnu achieved an uncontested victory in the Tata Workers Union RO elections, with all positions filled without opposition, marking a significant event in the union’s affairs.

JAMSHEDPUR – The election for key positions within the Tata Workers Union election team, the recognized union of Tata Steel, concluded with Team Tunnu securing all seats unopposed.

This unique election outcome was due to the lack of rival nominations, resulting in a unanimous decision for Srinivas Rao as the election returning officer.

The announcement was made by the election observer from the Labor Department, highlighting the absence of competition in this election cycle.

The election committee now comprises members Prabhunath Singh, Shantanu Rai, Deepak Kumar, Nishant Prakash, Ravindra Singh, and Ajit Lakra, representing various departments.

Mohammad Rafiq, initially poised to contest for the election officer position, faced a significant hurdle as he couldn’t secure the requisite support from 20 committee members.

Rafiq’s inability to file the nomination, along with the support of Ashok Kumar Gupta, led to the unopposed election of all Team Tunnu candidates.

The lack of opposition candidates in this election is a noteworthy event, indicating a strong consensus or a lack of viable alternatives within the union.

With the election process concluded, the new officials and the six-member committee are set to take over responsibilities pertaining to future union elections and activities.

A code of conduct will be established to guide the proceedings and operations of the Tata Workers Union under this new leadership.
