Cold Wave Alters School Timings in Jamshedpur
New School Hours Amid Cold Wave for Student Safety in East Singhbhum
Responding to the cold wave, the district modifies school timings from January 19 to 25, ensuring student safety with adjusted class schedules.
JAMSHEDPUR – In response to the intensifying cold wave, the district has revised school timings from January 19 to 25, 2024.
The District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner, Manjunath Bhajantri, implemented the state government’s guidelines.
Classes from KG to 5th grade will now run from 10:00 am to 02:00 pm.
For classes 6th to 12th, the schedule remains unchanged, from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm.

This decision applies to all government, non-government, aided, unaided, minority, and private schools in the district.
The objective is to ensure the safety and well-being of students during the extreme weather.
The midday meal program will continue as usual during this period.
The school education and literacy department of the state government initiated these changes due to the cold wave.
These measures reflect the district’s commitment to student health and education continuity.
