Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth Proposes January 22 Holiday, Ban on Meat and Liquor Sales

RANCHI – Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth has addressed a letter to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, proposing January 22 be declared a state holiday in light of the Ayodhya Ram temple consecration.

Seth’s letter highlights the significance of this day, marking it as a historic moment in Indian history, awaited for centuries.

The MP underscored the long journey of struggle, sacrifice, and penance leading to the re-establishment of Ramlala in Ayodhyadham.

He emphasized Jharkhand’s special connection with Lord Shri Ram, noting it as the birthplace of his devout follower, Hanuman.

Earlier, BJP leader Deepak Prakash had also requested CM Soren to consider this declaration.

Sanjay Seth elaborated on the preparations across Jharkhand to celebrate Diwali on this auspicious day, involving various social and cultural events.

He expressed confidence in CM Hemant Soren’s participation in the celebrations, highlighting the day’s significance for the entire Indian society.

In addition to declaring the holiday, Seth has advocated for a ban on meat and liquor sales on January 22.

This move is aimed at honoring the event with greater emotional and virtuous respect, aligning with the cultural significance of Ram Lalla’s return.

Sanjay Seth’s proposal encapsulates the historic and cultural importance of January 22, 2024, as a day of national pride and celebration in India.
