Jamshedpur to Aim for Top Spot in Cleanliness Survey 2024 with RRR Strategy

Jamshedpur’s RRR Focus in Cleanliness Survey 2024: Biomining System to Boost Ranking

In the upcoming Cleanliness Survey 2024, Jamshedpur is adopting a robust strategy focused on the 3R principle – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – to enhance its waste management and secure a higher ranking. The introduction of a biomining system and the removal of the garbage heap at Sonari Marine Drive are pivotal to this initiative.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur is set to revamp its waste management strategy for the Cleanliness Survey 2024.

The city’s focus on the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) theme is a crucial part of this initiative.

To boost its ranking, a significant step involves tackling the large garbage accumulation at Sonari Marine Drive.

The planned solid waste management plant in Samutola, spanning 40 acres in the Khairbani village of Govindpur, will play a key role.

This facility will feature a state-of-the-art biomining system, essential for effective waste processing.

The collective efforts of Jamshedpur Axis, Mango Municipal Corporation, Jugsalai Municipal Council, and Adityapur Municipal Corporation are vital to this campaign.

The primary objective is to ensure the thorough collection and disposal of waste from every household.

This year’s cleanliness survey, divided into three parts, will assess various aspects of waste management.

The Service Level Progress, worth 5705 points, will evaluate everything from garbage collection to the cleanliness of residential areas and water bodies.

Certification, with 2500 points, focuses on toilet facilities and related paperwork.

The newly named Jan Andolan, accounting for 1295 points, emphasizes citizen feedback and complaint redressal.

However, challenges such as the improper segregation of waste, inadequate door-to-door collection, and the prevalent use of banned plastic pose significant hurdles.

Additionally, the absence of a garbage disposal system in hotels, restaurants, and wedding venues is a concern that needs urgent attention.
