Adivasi Sengal Abhiyan calls for Bharat Bandh to demand the implementation of the Sarna Dharma Code, staging protests and road blockades in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Adivasi Sengal Abhiyan announced a Bharat Bandh today to press for demands including the implementation of the Sarna Dharma Code, establishment of a tribal nation, and recognition of the Sarna religion under Article 25.
In a significant move, members of the Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan blocked the Tata Hata main road near Karandih Chowk, causing significant traffic disruptions.
The symbolic Bharat Bandh mainly impacted rural areas, with campaigners actively participating in the protest.
The police, led by Parsudih police station in-charge Ramkumar Verma, intervened to pacify the protesters and clear the traffic jam.
Kunu Ram Baske, the zonal in-charge of Tribal Sengal Abhiyan, criticized the central and state governments for their perceived inaction and evasive attitude towards the implementation of the Sarna Code.
He stressed the ongoing religious subjugation faced by the state’s people and vowed to continue the movement until their demands are met.
The Bharat Bandh called by the Adivasi Sengal Abhiyan included jamming railway roads as part of their protest strategy to draw attention to their cause.
