TCIL to Invest Rs 1,787 Crore in Jamshedpur, Boosting Jobs & Industry
The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) partners with the Jharkhand Government to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, driving economic growth and job creation in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – The partnership between The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) and the Government of Jharkhand marks a significant step towards industrial advancement in the state.
TCIL, a Tata Steel unit, has committed to investing Rs 1,787 crore for a new 300,000 Tons per Annum (TPA) manufacturing facility in Jamshedpur.
Slated for commissioning in 2026, the facility aims to generate over 600 direct and indirect jobs, reinforcing TCIL’s role in the regional economy.
This initiative aligns with Jharkhand’s Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy 2021, focusing on job creation and economic development.
R N Murthy, Managing Director of TCIL, and Shri Jitendra Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary-Industries, Jharkhand, executed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Ranchi.
Murthy emphasized TCIL’s dedication to economic and social growth in Jamshedpur and Jharkhand, expressing gratitude for the government’s support.
The new facility, equipped with advanced technology and automation, will enhance TCIL’s manufacturing capabilities, contributing to both domestic and international markets.
TCIL, a leader in India’s tinplate market with over 45% share, offers products catering to various industries, including Edible Oils and Processed Foods.
The company’s global footprint, with about 25% of sales overseas, extends to South-East Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Europe.
Established in 1920, TCIL’s growth strategy aligns with Tata Steel’s vision for sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
