Passengers Block CKP Tatanagar Passenger Train Over Delays
Locals Protest Train Delays, Demand Punctuality in Services
Passengers block the CKP Tatanagar Passenger due to consistent delays, causing disruptions.
JAMSHEDPUR – Frustrated with the habitual tardiness of the CKP Tatanagar Passenger train, passengers staged a blockade between Birbans and Gamharia stations. This action was taken after enduring regular delays that affected thousands of laborers commuting daily from Chakradharpur, Barabambo, and Rajkharsawan to Tatanagar.
The delay in the train’s schedule, reportedly caused by the Vande Bharat train traveling from Purulia to Jamshedpur, has been a consistent issue, leading to problems for those dependent on this service for their daily work.
The protest led to the train being stopped for approximately 40-50 minutes.
Despite the intervention of local administration and railway police, the passengers remained unyielding in their demand for timely train services.
The situation escalated until officials from Sini, Adityapur, and Kandra RPF arrived and took stringent measures, which led to the dispersal of the protestors.
The blockade, which lasted for about one and a half hours, caused significant disruption, with the railway track jammed until around ten o’clock.
Several trains, including many at Chakradharpur railway station, were halted due to this incident, leading to widespread inconvenience among passengers.
