Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy Urges Clampdown on Illegal Activities, Calls for Vendor Protection

Saryu Roy Demands Action Against Illegal Operations in Jamshedpur, Advocates for Street Vendors

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy addresses illegal activities and vendor harassment issues, demands immediate action from the administration.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has taken a firm stand against the ongoing illegal scrap toll and oil cutting operations in some areas of Jamshedpur.

He lodged a complaint with the Barmines police station, highlighting the systematic illegal activities within their jurisdiction.

Roy demanded that these operations be halted within 24 hours, insisting on legal action against those involved.

He expressed concern over the resurgence of dominant figures in illegal activities, creating fear and anger among locals.

The apparent ignorance of these illegal businesses by local police raises serious questions about their effectiveness, he said.

Roy warned that if these activities aren’t curbed promptly, he will bring the issue to the Honorable Chief Minister’s attention during his upcoming visit.

In addition to these concerns, Roy emphasized the plight of street vendors.

Reports of police harassment towards small vendors, especially those in the Sidgora and Sakchi police station areas, were brought to his attention.

He criticized the police’s approach towards vendors, particularly those who have been earning their livelihoods through established street stalls.

Instances of police threatening legal action against vendors instead of addressing the actual issues were noted.

He said that there is a need to safeguard these vendors and ensure they aren’t wrongfully targeted.

The administration and police officials have been urged to address these concerns swiftly and effectively.

Roy said that there is a need for a balanced approach that tackles illegal activities while protecting the rights of legitimate street vendors.
