BJP Leader Goswami Advocates for Power Restoration in Jharkhand Villages

Urgent Calls for Resolving Rural Electricity Crisis in Jharkhand Amid Elephant Disturbances

Dr. Dineshanand Goswami, former state president of BJP, met Jharkhand Electricity GM to address night-time power cuts in rural areas due to elephant movements.

JAMSHEDPUR – Former BJP state president Dr. Dineshanand Goswami held a crucial meeting with Shravan Kumar, the General Manager of Jharkhand Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited, on Monday.

The meeting, which took place at the corporation’s Bistupur office, focused on the persistent electricity issues plaguing rural areas, particularly in the Chakulia block.

Dr. Goswami highlighted that villages have been experiencing nightly power outages for a week, attributed to precautionary measures against elephant movement.

He emphasized the hardship faced by villagers, who remain vigilant at night due to the fear of elephants.

The BJP leader demanded that regular power supply be restored by raising the height of electric cables in affected areas.

Dr. Goswami brought attention to the plight of farmers in Baharagora and Chakulia, who rely on electricity for garma paddy cultivation.

He urged the GM to ensure uninterrupted power supply to farmlands by providing sufficient poles and wires.

Highlighting the severity of the situation, Dr. Goswami pointed out that both human and elephant fatalities have occurred due to the lack of a comprehensive government strategy.

He proposed that guiding elephants safely to the Dalma forest could mitigate the issue, protecting both the rural population and the elephants.

The meeting underscores the urgent need for effective solutions to the electricity challenges faced by rural communities in Jharkhand, particularly in areas frequented by wildlife.
