Saryu Roy’s Intervention Sought in Neel Sarovar Incident; Demands Fair Investigation

Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy Offers Assistance to Family Embroiled in Kadma Neel Sarovar Ownership Dispute

Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy steps in to address grievances of family embroiled in Neel Sarovar incident in Kadma.

JAMSHEDPUR – Family members of the victim involved in the recent Kadma, Neel Sarovar incident, met with MLA Saryu Roy at his Bistupur office to seek his intervention over alleged harassment.

The victim’s family highlighted their ownership of the pond and adjoining land based on a 2008 Jharkhand High Court ruling, which they claim is not being enforced by the local administration and police.

The victim informed Roy about the removal of a symbolic peg in the pond, replaced by a fountain installed by the administration and Tata Steel.

They clarified that their opposition was not against the Chhath festival, but rather against the installation.

However, an FIR has been lodged against them for obstructing government work, among other serious charges.

Saryu Roy assured the family of support but cautioned against allowing the issue to gain a political hue, which could potentially harm their interests.

He advised them to approach the High Court for the cancellation of the FIR, suggesting that the court would act swiftly, especially as the family’s lawyer is mentioned in the FIR.

Roy also recommended raising the issue with the Bar Association for additional support.

In his conversation with the Senior Superintendent of Police, Roy emphasized the need for a fair and unbiased investigation, free from political influence.

The SSP assured Roy that the police would conduct a thorough and just investigation into the matter.

MLA Saryu Roy stressed that justice should be done in the Neel Sarovar incident, balancing legal proceedings with the interests of the affected family.
