Roy visited the site on Monday, meeting with local shopkeepers and former president of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce, Suresh Sonthalia, to gather detailed information about the event.
JAMSHEDPUR – Saryu Roy visited Bistupur Diagonal Road this Monday following reports of a lathicharge incident involving local shopkeepers.
He met with Suresh Sonthalia, the former president of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce, to discuss the circumstances of the unprovoked attack.
Local business leaders and other community members, including former general secretary Bharat Vasani and BJMO District President Subodh Srivastava, were also present.
Roy condemned the action taken by the JNAC contingent, labeling it unprovoked and unnecessary.
In response, he announced plans to form a committee tasked with conducting a fair and impartial review of the incident.
"This committee will ensure a thorough investigation and uphold the principle of justice for all affected parties," stated Roy.
The findings of the committee will be formally presented to the District Commissioner once the investigation is complete.
Roy is expected to officially announce the members of this committee by Tuesday.
This move by Roy underscores a commitment to accountability and governance, reflecting his active engagement with community issues in Jamshedpur.
