Electrocution Accident Claims One Life in Ulidih Jamshedpur
Civil Mechanic Dies from Electric Shock in Sankosai, Jamshedpur
A tragic electrocution incident claimed the life of civil mechanic Sadikh Shaikh in Jamshedpur’s Sankosai area.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a tragic turn of events, Sadikh Shaikh, a 35-year-old civil mechanic, was electrocuted while working at a private residence on Sankosai Road No. 5 under the Ulidih police station in Jamshedpur. The incident occurred around 10:30 am on Saturday morning.
Shaikh received a lethal electric shock from an 11 thousand volt wire. According to his wife, Reena, he was working on the roof of the house when he accidentally came into contact with the wire while handling a rod. The contact caused him to fall from the roof, resulting in severe injuries.
He was promptly taken to MGM hospital for treatment, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Sadikh Sheikh, hailing from Bota village of Patmada, was a daily wage worker and the sole breadwinner of his family, which includes five children. His wife, Reena, was also working at the same location when the accident occurred.
This unfortunate incident has cast a shadow of grief over the family and raised concerns about safety measures in place for workers engaged in such high-risk tasks.
