Foiled Robbery Plot in Jamshedpur; Criminals Nabbed in Police Disguise
Jamshedpur Police avert a major robbery in the Circuit House area, arresting six with weapons.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant crackdown, the Jamshedpur Police have arrested six individuals planning a robbery at a businessman’s house in the Circuit House area, falling under the Bishtupur police station jurisdiction.
The gang, equipped with a country-made pistol, live cartridges, and other incriminating items, was apprehended near Jubilee Park just before they could execute their heist.
The suspects, who were traveling in a Bolero, were caught in a timely police raid.
The arrested individuals include Ramesh Mahato from the Bhilai Hills area of the MGM police station, Prabhas Mukherjee from Sitaramdera Radio Ground, Bablu Lohar from Lupudih, Birsanagar, and Amrit Lal Singh, Manish Singh, and Mahesh Singh Munda from Ranchi Namkum and Tupudana respectively.
Their plan involved impersonating police officers to carry out the robbery.
The police also seized two police uniforms, four wheelers, and seven mobile phones from the gang.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kaushal Kishore revealed that the police had received a tip-off about the planned robbery at the businessman’s house.
A quick response team was formed under the leadership of the City SP, leading to the successful apprehension of the criminals.
Two of the arrested individuals previously worked at the businessman’s house, giving them inside knowledge crucial for the planned heist.
The gang had decided to strike on the day of Chhath Puja, anticipating reduced police vigilance.
However, the police’s proactive approach foiled their plans.
This arrest marks a significant achievement for the Jamshedpur Police, demonstrating their commitment to preventing crime and ensuring public safety in the area.
