Brown Sugar Worth Rs 5,000 Seized Near Sai Mandir, Jamshedpur; Two Arrested

In a significant crackdown on drug peddling, Jamshedpur police have arrested two individuals for selling brown sugar near a local landmark, underscoring the ongoing battle against narcotics.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Telco police station’s diligent efforts led to the apprehension of two men involved in the illegal sale of brown sugar near Sai Mandir, adjacent to Millennium Park.

The individuals, identified as Sanjay Gorai, 32, from New Basti Ghodabandha, Govindur, and Rajesh Tantubai, 33, from Birsanagar Road No. 6, were taken into custody and later remanded to judicial jail on Saturday.

During the operation, authorities confiscated 25 bags of brown sugar, estimated to be worth around Rs 5,000, marking a significant seizure for the local law enforcement.

Additionally, the police recovered a motorcycle and two mobile phones, items believed to be used in the commission of their illegal activities.

This successful operation not only removes a quantity of drugs from circulation but also sends a strong message to those involved in the drug trade within the community.

The arrest and subsequent seizure underline the commitment of Jamshedpur police to combat drug trafficking and maintain safety and security in the area.
