Three armed criminals robbed MB Jewelers near Aerodrome Bazaar under Sonari police station in Jamshedpur, escaping with cash and jewelry in broad daylight.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a daring daylight robbery, three criminals targeted MB Jewelers near Aerodrome Bazaar under Sonari police station on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at around 1:45 PM when the shop had fewer customers.

Three boys entered the shop, with two of them wearing masks and caps. Initially posing as customers, they asked to see a ring.

Moments later, one of the criminals pulled out a pistol and threatened everyone in the shop. The other two also brandished their weapons, capturing the shopkeepers.

The shopkeeper managed to run and close the door, but by then, the criminals had already taken all the gold jewelry and cash from the showroom.

They escaped with approximately Rs 2 lakh in cash. The exact amount of stolen jewelry is still being assessed.

This incident has exposed significant lapses in the local police system.

Despite heavy security arrangements for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, criminals continue to operate with impunity.

On Thursday, another daylight murder occurred in Kadma, highlighting the ongoing lawlessness. Near Sonari Aerodrome on Friday, masked criminals on a bike looted cash and jewelry worth about Rs 50 lakh from MB Jewelers at gunpoint.

The robbers fled on their bike, leaving the shop operator, Rishabh Jain, to report the incident to the police.

After receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and began their investigation, examining CCTV footage from the shop and nearby areas.

Shop operator Rishabh Jain explained that he was present with two staff members and one customer when the criminals entered. Initially, they demanded to see jewelry but were refused.

They then asked to see a silver ring. When shown, the criminals drew their weapons, including a carbine, and within 15 minutes, looted the shop and fled on their bike.

City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat stated that the police are actively working to identify the criminals using CCTV footage from the shop and surrounding areas.
