Thieves Target Temple in Sakchi, Incident Captured on CCTV

In a brazen theft, miscreants stole the donation box from Shri Shri Sankat Mochan Shiv Temple located in Sanjay Market under Sakchi police station area of Jamshedpur late Thursday night.

JAMSHEDPUR – The donation box from Shri Shri Sankat Mochan Shiv Temple in Sanjay Market was stolen late on Thursday night.

The incident was captured on the CCTV installed in the temple premises.

The theft was discovered when temple caretaker Vijay Kumar Gupta arrived to open the temple on Friday morning and noticed the donation box missing.

Gupta immediately informed committee chairman Santosh Jaiswal about the incident.

Jaiswal explained that the thief entered the temple premises by jumping over the grill and ran away with the donation box.

There are two donation boxes in the temple: one fixed and the other kept movable.

The fixed donation box was stolen.

Jaiswal mentioned that the stolen donation box had been installed during Durga Puja.

The box was expected to contain around 4 to 5 thousand rupees.

The police have been informed and are investigating the matter.

This incident has raised concerns about the security of religious establishments in the area.
