14 Individuals, Including Foreign Nationals, Arrested in Late-Night Raid
In a shocking revelation, a prostitution racket was exposed at a spa center in the posh Lalpur area of Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, during a police raid conducted on Sunday.
RANCHI – The Lalpur police station area was shaken by the discovery of a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a spa center in the upscale locality.
Acting on secret information, a police team led by City DSP V Raman conducted a raid at Le Desire Mall in Lalpur, Ranchi.
As soon as the police arrived at the scene, people were seen fleeing from the spa center in a desperate attempt to evade arrest.
During the raid, 14 individuals, including both boys and girls, were caught in compromising positions.
The police also recovered various objectionable items from the spa center.
International Nexus and Human Trafficking
The police investigation revealed a disturbing international nexus involved in the prostitution racket.
Among those arrested were three girls from Thailand, two from Delhi, four from West Bengal, one from Nepal, and one local girl.
It was discovered that girls from Thailand were being brought to Ranchi on tourist visas and forced into prostitution at the spa center.
"The involvement of foreign nationals in this prostitution racket is a serious concern," stated a police official. "We are investigating the matter further to uncover the entire network and bring those responsible to justice."
Police Action and Investigation
Ranchi SSP Rajkumar Mehta had instructed the formation of a special police team under the leadership of City DSP V Raman to take action against the spa center based on secret information received.
The Lalpur police have registered an FIR regarding the entire matter, and further investigation is underway to ensure stringent action against all individuals involved in the prostitution business.
"We have arrested a total of 14 people during the raid, most of whom are girls," said a police officer. "The Lalpur police will thoroughly investigate the matter and take necessary steps to dismantle this illegal operation."
Local Residents Raise Concerns
The police raid was prompted by information provided by local residents who had suspected illegal activities at the Bamboo International Spa Center located on the fourth floor of Le Desire Complex, opposite Hariom Tower on Circular Road.
"We had been noticing suspicious activities at the spa center for some time," said a concerned local resident. "We are glad that the police acted on our information and exposed this prostitution racket."
The raid has sent shockwaves through the posh locality, with residents expressing their disbelief and demanding strict action against those involved in such illegal activities.
