FIR filed against vehicle owner after overloaded truck seized

CHANDIL – Chauka police station in Seraikela-Kharsawan district has filed an FIR in connection with the seizure of a sand-laden truck on Wednesday morning.
The police action comes after intercepting a Hyva truck (JH 05 BE-0648) reportedly carrying illegal sand cargo.
"The vehicle was impounded based on a tip-off and is currently at the police station premises," a police official stated.
Authorities demanded valid documents for the sand transportation from the driver and owner, which they failed to produce.
The seized truck was found to be carrying over 500 CFT of sand, exceeding its legal capacity.
This case has drawn the attention of senior district officials, who are closely monitoring the police response.
Sources indicate that some district authorities were informed about the seizure early Wednesday morning.
Following the FIR, high-ranking officials are now preparing for broader action against the illegal sand mining and transportation syndicate.
"Several influential individuals are suspected to be involved in facilitating this illegal trade," an anonymous source revealed.
District authorities are reportedly consulting with state-level officials to plan a comprehensive crackdown on the sand mining network.
