Intoxicated Son’s Attack Leads to Father’s Death in East Singhbhum
Tragic family dispute in Amakandi results in the death of Mangal Majhi.
JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic incident unfolded in Amakandi of Gadigram under the Patamda police station in East Singhbhum district, where Ashok Majhi, in an intoxicated state, attacked his father, Mangal Majhi, with a sharp weapon.
The incident occurred on Saturday and led to the father’s death on Sunday evening during treatment at the Community Health Center (CHC).
According to reports, Mangal Majhi, who has four sons, two of whom are married and two unmarried, faced neglect from his sons.
He was reportedly forced to beg for food from other houses within the village.
The dispute escalated on Saturday when Ashok, the elder son, engaged in an argument with his father, which tragically turned violent, resulting in Mangal sustaining a severe head injury.
The injured father was immediately admitted to the CHC but succumbed to his injuries the following day.
On Monday, the police conducted a panchnama (investigation) of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the accused son, Ashok Majhi, who is currently absconding.
The local police are actively investigating the case to provide justice for the victim and ensure such incidents do not recur.
