Violent Clash in East Plant Basti Leads to Arrests and Seizure of Weapons
JMM leader Satyanarayan Gaur arrested after firing incident in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a violent outbreak on Friday afternoon in East Plant Basti line number five, Satyanarayan Gaur, a transporter and JMM leader, was arrested by the Burmamines police.
The incident, which occurred around 2 pm, involved indiscriminate firing and an armed attack following a dispute over rash driving.
Gaur’s son Mohit and nephew Harikrishna were also arrested and subsequently sent to jail in connection with the incident.
The police recovered a gun, five live cartridges, a shell, and two swords from the accused.
An FIR has been filed at the Burmamines police station against the accused based on a complaint from Pradeep Mallik, a resident of East Plant Basti Line number three, who suffered injuries in the firing.
The police are also actively searching for another individual, Rishiraj Singh, in connection to this case.
Additionally, another suspect has been taken into custody.
In a parallel development, the accused party has filed an FIR, alleging house break-in, assault, and vandalism.
In the chaos of the incident, a student named Pravesh Kumar sustained critical injuries and is currently in the ICU at TMH.
His condition remains serious.
In response to these events, the police have initiated the process to cancel the licensed weapon license of Satyanarayan Gaur.
The conflict reportedly began when Mohit Gaur was confronted by locals for rash driving.
This confrontation escalated, leading Satyanarayan Gaur and Harikrishna Gaur to emerge armed from their house, resulting in the firing.
Pravesh Kumar was hit in the head, and Pradeep Mallik sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand.
Furthermore, Mohit and others, armed with swords, bats, and other weapons, attacked several people in the area.
This incident has raised serious concerns about public safety and the misuse of firearms in the region, prompting a swift response from the local law enforcement.
