Cyber Police Investigate After Reports of Threats and Coercion

A 19-year-old woman from Dalapani village, under the jurisdiction of MGM police station in Mango, Jamshedpur, has filed an FIR following continuous harassment via WhatsApp.

JAMSHEDPUR – A 19-year-old woman from Dalapani village, under the jurisdiction of MGM police station in Mango, Jamshedpur, has filed an FIR following continuous harassment via WhatsApp.

The harassment began on April 17, when she received an unsolicited video call from an unknown young man.

The perpetrator has been pressuring her to engage in inappropriate activities through repeated video calls.

He has also threatened to distribute obscene photos and videos of her to her family and on social media if she does not comply.

The victim lodged the FIR at the Cyber Police Station in Bistupur, seeking immediate action against the youth.

The police have registered the case and initiated an investigation to address the reported digital harassment.

This case highlights the ongoing challenges of cyber safety and the importance of swift law enforcement response to protect individuals from such threats.
