PM Modi Pays Tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Jharkhand Visit

In Jharkhand, PM Modi pays homage to Birsa Munda, flags off Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, and launches major initiatives including PM PVTG Mission.
RANCHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today commemorated Tribal Pride Day with a visit to Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park and Freedom Fighters Museum in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
He paid floral tributes to the revered tribal leader and freedom fighter on his birth anniversary at his native village, Ulihatu.
The Prime Minister launched several key initiatives from Khunti, including the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and the Prime Minister’s Specially Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) Mission, together valued at Rs. 24,000 crores.
He also released the 15th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi amounting to Rs 18,000 crore.
Projects worth about Rs 7200 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid, including infrastructure and educational developments.
At the event, PM Modi examined various stalls showcasing Central Government welfare schemes, highlighting the administration’s focus on public welfare.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren addressed the need for an action plan for those displaced by mineral mining in Jharkhand, a state with a significant tribal population.
The Prime Minister flagged off the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, aimed at informing the tribal population about government welfare schemes.
The PM’s PVTG Mission will target improving the living conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups across 18 states and union territories.
Furthermore, the PM released funds under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, benefiting over 8 crore farmers.
Infrastructure projects like road expansions and the establishment of educational institutes were also announced.
The day concluded with PM Modi offering respects at the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, underlining his government’s dedication to honoring tribal heroes and heritage.
