East Singhbhum to Celebrate Green Card Rice Distribution Utsav on October 18; All Officers Instructed for Rigorous Monitoring

District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner orders extended PDS shop hours for Green Card Rice Distribution Utsav Day. Eligible green card holders to receive free rice for March 2023.

JAMSHEDPUR – The District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri, has issued an order for the celebration of Green Card Rice Distribution Festival Day on October 18, 2023.

The event is part of the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme and aims to distribute free rice packets for the month of March 2023 to green ration card holders.

To facilitate this, Public Distribution System (PDS) shops in the East Singhbhum district will remain open beyond their regular hours.

Mr. Bhajantri has directed all district-level, block-level, and panchayat officials to inspect PDS shops while on tour to ensure the successful operation and monitoring of the Rice Distribution Festival Day.

Furthermore, Block Supply Officers and Marketing Officers have been asked to instruct all PDS vendors in their areas to keep their shops open after the scheduled working hours on October 18.

Green ration card holders are being encouraged by the administration to visit their respective PDS shops on this date to collect their free rice packets for March 2023.
