Lok Sabha Election 2024: Opposition Unites Under ‘India’ Alliance to Challenge BJP

Opposition parties unite in ‘India’ alliance, gearing up for 2024 Lok Sabha elections to challenge the ruling BJP-led NDA government.

DESK – Political parties are already preparing for the crucial Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Jharkhand and Bihar Congress leaders are scheduled to meet key figures, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, on August 16 and 17 to devise their strategy.

The BJP-led NDA government is mounting a vigorous campaign to secure its third term in power.

Several opposition parties, in an unprecedented move, have formed a new alliance named ‘India.

This Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (I-N-D-I-A) comprises 26 parties, all aligned against the BJP.

The first meeting was held in Patna, followed by Bengaluru, and the third meeting is set to occur in Mumbai.

During the Mumbai meeting, decisions regarding the alliance’s coordinator and a coordination committee may be made.

The aim of the alliance is clear: to defeat the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the next general elections.

Prominent figures such as Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, Nitish Kumar, MK Stalin, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray, Hemant Soren, Arvind Kejriwal, and Akhilesh Yadav were present during the announcement.
