St. Mary’s English High School Students Tour CSIR-NML in Jamshedpur
121 students and instructors visit CSIR-NML in Jamshedpur for an interactive session on AI, machine learning, and more, with a tour of the lab.
JAMSHEDPUR – The students and teachers wrapped up their full-day visit to CSIR-NML with tours of research facilities, including AAC, Creep, and the CSIR-NML Museum and Library.
“Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Steel Industry” was the subject of Dr. Arpita Ghosh’s speech as Principal Scientist at AMP Division. She elaborated on the benefits and applications of artificial intelligence within the iron and steel industry.
The seminar on “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” saw participation from both students and teachers. Dr. Suman Tewary, Senior Scientist, AMP Division, was the speaker in the seminar on “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning,” elaborating on various types of AI, machine learning, and their daily-life applications.
Dr. Animesh Jana, Senior Scientist and Project Leader for the CSIR Jigyasa Virtual Laboratory, presented on the CSIR-NML Jigyasa Program and discussed the various activities the organization was involved in.
Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, the Chief Scientist & Head of MTE Division, CSIR-NML, initiated the program with a welcoming speech. He provided an overview of CSIR and explained various laboratory research projects, emphasizing hands-on learning and urging students to use examples from daily activities for a practical approach.
The visit was a part of the CSIR-Jigyasa Virtual Lab Integration Program and included 121 students and three instructors from St. Mary’s English High School in Jamshedpur. Interaction with scientists and the chance to explore the lab excited the students, aiming to build relationships, inspire kids, and make science appealing.
