Jamshedpur Advocate Arrested in Assault and Extortion Threats Case
Advocate Shriram Dubey in Jamshedpur faces arrest under SC/ST Act for alleged assault and threats of extortion, following a viral video showing conflict.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur’s legal community was taken aback late Friday night when Advocate Ram Dubey was picked up at his residence by local police.
The arrest followed allegations that Mr. Dubey had taken the law into his hands by assaulting individuals and issuing threats of violence.
He is currently detained at the Bistupur police station.
Dubey’s arrest has also been linked to an existing case registered under the SC/ST Act at the Birsanagar police station.
A complaint was registered against Advocate Shriram Dubey at the Birsanagar SC/ST police station for assault and demands of extortion.
This case relates to an incident that took place at the old court premises.
Sawan Filiya Meethas, a resident of Sitaramdera, has leveled numerous serious allegations against Mr. Ram Dubey.
This past Wednesday, a video surfaced on social media, in which Mr. Dubey was seen involved in a physical altercation with individuals at the old court premises.
Dubey had claimed that he had only stopped people from drinking liquor on the old court premises as an advocate he deems it his duty to keep the court premises free of such practices.
However, the video showing him with a stick and getting into an altercation with a few persons had since gone viral leading to his arrest.
