Child’s Swift Stone Surgery in Adityapur: Another Success of Dr. Nagendra Singh’s Team

In a remarkable 13-minute operation, a team of surgeons, led by Dr. Nagendra Singh, removed 200 stomach stones from a 2-year-old girl, showcasing advanced endoscopic techniques.

JAMSHEDPUR – Highlighting the significance of affordable medical care for all, the free successful operation of two-year-old Tanisha Kumari from Adityapur has set an example.

This intricate procedure was performed to extract about 200 mustard-seed sized stones from Tanisha’s stomach.

Conducted in merely 13 minutes, the operation was carried out through a risky but efficient new endoscopic technique.

According to Dr. Nagendra Singh, the technique involves the inflation of the abdomen using carbon dioxide flow, which can potentially have harmful impacts on the lungs.

In Tanisha’s case, however, the procedure was complication-free, enabling her to be discharged just three days post-operation.

Renowned for his compassion towards underprivileged patients, Dr. Singh, alongside Dr. Rudra Pratap and Dr. Abhishek, undertook the procedure at no cost due to the financial constraints faced by Tanisha’s father, Dilip Mukhi, a daily wage labourer.

Dr. Singh expressed his support for the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" campaign, stressing the collective responsibility to assist, protect, educate, and empower girls.

The decision to delve deeper into Tanisha’s medical condition was taken by Dr. Singh after learning about her persistent stomach ache, despite various painkiller treatments from multiple doctors over three months.

It was during this examination that the three doctors discovered her numerous stomach stones, which had gone undetected previously.

The successful intervention offers relief to Tanisha’s family and exemplifies the efficacy of the team’s swift, decisive action.
