Heavy Trucks Block Highway After Being Denied Entry Into Companies
Key Points:
- Hundreds of trucks stranded outside Amalgam Steel and Adhunik Power
- Chowka-Kandra road blocked for hours causing severe public inconvenience
- Locals blame company negligence and administration inaction
Seraikela – Traffic on the busy Chowka-Kandra road came to a halt on Monday after negligence by Amalgam Steel and Adhunik Power Plant created a massive jam.
Hundreds of heavy trucks carrying material to the companies were not allowed entry and were forced to stand along the roadside. As a result, the entire stretch remained clogged for hours, leaving commuters stranded.
Locals said the road was already a danger zone filled with potholes, where accidents occurred frequently. However, neither the company management nor the district administration had taken steps to improve the situation.
According to witnesses, company security guards often issued challans and then directed vehicles to park on the road and even over drains, narrowing the passage and creating hazards.
The jam led to heated arguments among drivers, while pedestrians and motorists faced extreme hardship. Residents alleged that industrial houses only focused on profits and ignored public safety.
Meanwhile, police and administrative authorities remained silent on the issue, prompting locals to question why no action was being taken against the companies and how long people’s lives would continue to be put at risk.
