Muharram Procession in Chandil Marks Respect for Martyrs of Karbala

Chandil observes Muharram with a procession showcasing astonishing kartab, alongside the remembrance of the Karbala martyrs.

JAMSHEDPUR – Muharram in Chandil witnessed a demonstration of respect towards the Karbala martyrs, with the procession moving under the watchful eyes of a Magistrate and Chandil’s Circle officer.
Along with the procession, the police force from Chandil police station and the in-charge of Chowka police station maintained a keen vigil, ensuring the procession moved smoothly.
The flow of vehicles on NH 32 was halted as a part of the security arrangements, ensuring that the procession carried out by the Muharram Committee Chandil moved without hindrance.
The martyrs of Karbala were remembered with utmost respect and reverence during Muharram.
The event started with Langarkhani at Imambara after Fatiha in the morning, symbolizing the unwavering faith of the people.
This was followed by the Akhara procession that navigated from the Imambara, through the Chandil market, NH 32, and Hotel Rahul Palace, before finally returning to the Imambara.
Throughout the procession, devotees showcased their astonishing skills with sticks, spears, and swords, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
Alongside the procession, Sharbat stalls were set up on the banks of NH 32 for the benefit of the people participating in the event.
