Muharram Mourning Procession in Jamshedpur Commemorates Martyrdom of Imam Hussain
Jamshedpur’s Shia community passionately mourns on Muharram’s ninth day, remembering the martyrdom of Imam Hussain.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Hussaini Mission in Jamshedpur organized a mourning procession in memory of Imam Hussain on the ninth day of Muharram.
Imam Hussain, revered in the Shia community, was martyred in the Battle of Karbala.
A substantial crowd gathered near Sakchi Gol Chakkar to witness the procession.
Shia community members, who initiated the procession from their Majlis, mourned profoundly, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hasan Hussain.
Many youths expressed their sorrow by inflicting wounds on their torsos, shedding blood in remembrance of the Karbala tragedy.
The event saw participation not only from men but also from Shia women and a considerable number of the Muslim community.
From a security perspective, the entire area was cordoned and converted into a police camp.
Muharram’s tenth day, better known as "Ashura," marks the passing of Hussain in the Battle of Karbala, which is remembered worldwide by Muslims, especially the Shia community.
