Overbridge Construction Demanded at Barigora and Jojobera Rail Gates

Barigora Basti Vikas Sangharsh Samiti demands the building of overbridges at Barigora and Jojobera railway gates for better commute and timely arrival of locals.
JAMSHEDPUR – Today, several members, including Shivji Prasad, Shailendra Sinha, Vinod Kumar Singh, Sunita Nag, Kusum Purti, Neeraj Singh, Google Singh, Ved Prakash, Deputy Chief Amresh Singh, Subodh Shahi, and others, visited the Deputy Commissioner’s office to deliver a memorandum regarding their demand.
In an escalating protest, they urge the administration to take their request seriously to avoid more intense demonstrations in the coming days.
Their dissatisfaction stems from the fact that a year ago, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and then-DRM CKP Mr. Sahu visited the railway gate and promised construction on the overbridge would commence within 60 days, yet nothing has changed.
A recent tragic event saw a patient pass away due to the gate being closed, further highlighting the urgency of the matter.
The locals, including commuters, school children, and employees at the Nuvoco Cement Plant, wire company, Tata Power, and other enterprises, face difficulties in reaching their destinations on time due to the rail gate’s frequent closing and opening.
Owing to two rail gates at the mentioned location, the large population in this area suffers from daily inconveniences caused by the passage of trains, as the gates remain closed most of the time.
Previously, on July 18, the committee initiated a banner-and-registration campaign for their demands near the Barigora railway gate. Residents of Barigora, Rahargoda, Gadda, Bamangoda, Sopodera, and Sarjamda, Jaskandih, and representatives from all political parties participated and expressed their support.
