Midfielder Imran Khan Seals Two-Year Contract with Jamshedpur FC
Versatile midfielder Imran Khan shifts from NorthEast United FC to Jamshedpur FC, signs two-year deal, bringing valuable Hero ISL experience.
JAMSHEDPUR – The highly adaptable midfielder Imran Khan, known for his commanding presence in the middle of the pitch, has taken his talents to Jamshedpur FC on a two-year deal from NorthEast United FC.
The signing is a significant boost for Jamshedpur FC, who will benefit from Imran’s recent successes playing on both wings and offensive midfield. He has played 37 matches for the Highlanders in the Hero ISL, during which he scored two goals and assisted four times.
The 28-year-old’s journey to Jamshedpur FC has been an exciting one. Born in Manipur, Imran kicked off his professional career with Mohammedan Sporting Club in the I-League.
He made his first appearance in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) with FC Goa in 2018, before moving on loan to Gokulam Kerala and Mohun Bagan. In 2020, Imran joined NEROCA FC in the I-League, before his tenure with NorthEast United FC in the Hero ISL.
Imran’s enthusiasm about his new club is palpable. "I believe I’m ready to help Jamshedpur win championships again," he said, confident that the city’s history of producing top-notch Indian players would spur his development.
Scott Cooper, Jamshedpur FC’s head coach, is equally optimistic.
Describing Imran as a "highly skilled and adaptable midfielder with a powerful left foot and a great attitude," Cooper is confident that the player will integrate seamlessly into their strategy.
