Interstate Gang Members Arrested in Tatanagar, Stolen Goods Recovered
Joint operation by Tatanagar RPF Post and GRP nabs members of an interstate gang, recovering various stolen items.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent joint operation, the Tatanagar Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested Noor Mohammad Ansari, a member of an interstate gang, along with two of his associates from Bokaro.
Recovered from the culprits were two stolen laptops, five mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs 1400, and two bracelets.
This operation came in response to a theft that took place on July 10, during which Nitish Kumar’s bag was stolen while he was travelling in the M One coach of the Howrah Ranchi Hatia train.
Nitish Kumar filed a complaint with the Ranchi GRP regarding the theft of goods worth Rs 2,25,000.
The case was referred to Tatanagar GRP on July 16, the same day another mobile theft occurred at Tatanagar railway station.
During investigations, it was discovered that the same individual was behind both thefts.
Using CCTV and Tech Cell, RPF and GRP jointly identified the thief as Bokaro resident Noor Mohd Ansari.
Following his location, he was apprehended in Bokaro, along with the stolen mobile and bag.
Under rigorous interrogation, Noor Mohammad Ansari admitted to the theft, leading to the capture of his accomplice Irfan Ansari and shopkeeper Ashwani Das.
Two stolen laptops, three additional stolen mobile phones, and cash were recovered from them.
RPF OC Sanjay Tiwari stated that Noor Mohammad Ansari often tricked passengers while travelling on the train, and he has been imprisoned in multiple cases previously.
