Gold Jewelry Theft on Mumbai-Shalimar Express Resolved, Stolen Items Recovered
Inter-state gang involved in gold jewelry theft on train apprehended through joint efforts of GRP and SER RPF.
Efforts by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and South Eastern Railway Protection Force (SER RPF) have led to the resolution of a gold jewelry theft case on the Mumbai-Shalimar Express.
JAMSHEDPUR – On April 24, 2024, an inter-state gang carried out a theft between Jhargram and Mecheda stations aboard train no. 18029 LTT Mumbai-Shalimar Express.
Three gang members boarded the train at Jhargram and executed the theft, but one of the accused was caught by the victim with the help of fellow passengers.
The apprehended suspect was handed over to the GRP at Mecheda Railway Station, where a case was registered.
Following an interrogation, a joint operation by the GRP and SER RPF was conducted in Hisar, Haryana, leading to the recovery of the stolen jewelry.
In accordance with the court’s orders, the recovered gold ornaments were returned to the rightful owner, who expressed appreciation for the swift action taken by the Railways and the investigating team.
The authorities commended the successful collaboration between the GRP and SER RPF in apprehending the culprits and recovering the stolen items.
This case highlights the effectiveness of coordinated efforts in addressing railway crimes and ensuring passenger safety.
The incident underscores the importance of vigilance and cooperation among passengers and railway officials in maintaining security on trains.
