Week 21 of Jamshedpur Golden Baby League Witnesses Loyola Soccer Army’s Defeat

In the ongoing Jamshedpur Golden Baby League 2023, Week 21 saw Loyola Soccer Army of Loyola School losing 0-1 to JPS Juniors of Jamshedpur Public School in the U9 category.

JAMSHEDPUR – In Week 21 of the Jamshedpur Golden Baby League, the Loyola Soccer Army team, representing Loyola School, was bested 0-1 by the JPS Juniors squad of Jamshedpur Public School in the Under-9 category.

The Jamshedpur Golden Baby League 2023, now in its second edition, is designed to cater to children across the city, with categories spanning Under-5, Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, and Under-13.

This league is facilitated by Jamshedpur FC, in collaboration with the Jharkhand Football Association (JFA), Jharkhand Sporting Association (JSA), and the support of Reliance Foundation.

To further foster growth in grassroots football, a 10-month competition is organised every Sunday at the Archery field of the JRD Tata Sports Complex. This supplements the existing grassroots schools programme operated by Jamshedpur FC throughout the week after school.

Despite heavy rainfall, the second half of this year’s Baby League has kicked off with significant attendance.

Tata Steel luminaries, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Manager, Tata Steel Sports Department, and Mrs. Renu Bhadoria, Finance Executive, graced the event. JFA referee board members also made their presence felt at the Baby League this week.

This past Sunday witnessed a total of 561 children participate in the Baby League, with 113 in the U5s, 148 in the U7s, 160 in the U9s, 63 in the U11s, and 77 in the U13s.

While the U5s and U7s played 14 matches each, the U11s and U13s participated in 6 and 5 matches, respectively. The U9s had a busy day with 10 matches played.
