Jharkhand’s Marwari Mahila Groups Conclude Week-long Bhagwat Katha with Havan Ceremony

Bhagwat Katha, a week-long spiritual gathering organised by Marwari women’s groups in Jharkhand, culminates with a Havan ceremony, reinforcing the virtues of devotion and selfless friendship.

JAMSHEDPUR – A week-long Bhagwat Katha organised by the Jharkhand Prantiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan (JPMMS) and Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) of Jamshedpur concluded with a Havan ceremony at Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur on July 14.

Devotees present at the ceremony received prasad.

The final day of the Katha featured the story of Sudama and Lord Krishna’s sublime journey to his heavenly abode.

Sitaram Shastri, the Katha Vachak, spoke from his Vyaspeeth, highlighting that devotion to the Lord is the sole means of liberation from all sins in Kali Yuga.

He further emphasized the power of the Lord’s name and the significance of utilitarian knowledge.

Using the story of Sudama and Lord Krishna, Shastri urged attendees to aspire to embody a friendship like theirs, one based on understanding and mutual aid, and not self-interest.

In addition, Shastri Ji observed the temporariness of worldly possessions and the importance of gratitude to the Supreme Giver, the Almighty.

He concluded the Katha with the story of Dattatreya, reflecting on the coexistence of virtues and flaws in the world, with the wicked living by their defects and the virtuous by their virtues.
