Dengue Alert: Suspected Cases Surge in Jamshedpur City
Surge in suspected dengue cases in Jamshedpur, with four confirmed in the past week, triggering health concerns.

JAMSHEDPUR – The increasing number of dengue cases in Jamshedpur city has sparked alarm among healthcare professionals.
The latest incident involved a suspected dengue patient from Pardih who was admitted to Brahmanand Hospital on Tuesday.
The patient, exhibiting classic dengue symptoms like high fever and weakness, was immediately reported to the surveillance department by the hospital.
The department then collected a blood sample from the patient for further examination.
Rising Dengue Cases Within a Week
The past week alone has seen four confirmed dengue cases from various areas of the city. Two patients are currently receiving treatment at Tinplate Hospital, while the other two are admitted in a private hospital on NH-33. With the onset of the rainy season, which can lead to an increase in mosquito-borne diseases, citizens have been advised to exercise caution.
Government Action in Response to Outbreak
Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Manjhi has directed all government and private hospitals to inform the surveillance department of any suspected dengue cases.
The department is actively combating the situation by spraying anti-larvae solutions in areas where dengue patients have been reported.
At present, there are 24 confirmed dengue cases in the district, in comparison to a total of 32 patients reported in the previous year.
