Hemant Soren Accuses BJP of Poaching MLAs, Vows to Oust Party
CM alleges BJP flares communal tension, obstructs welfare schemes in Jharkhand
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren accused BJP of poaching MLAs and vowed to oust the party from the state in upcoming elections.
RANCHI – CM Hemant Soren accused BJP of poaching MLAs and using central agencies against opposition, vowing to oust them in upcoming polls.
Addressing a public meeting in Gumla district, Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the central government. The event, part of the ‘Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar‘ program, saw Soren inaugurating 347 projects worth over Rs 1,000 crore for Gumla and Lohardaga districts.
Soren alleged that the BJP resorts to unethical practices to gain power. "Even when people reject them, they poach MLAs and MPs, misuse agencies like ED and CBI against opposition leaders, or imprison them to form governments," he claimed.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in his party’s resilience, stating, "We are neither saleable nor scared. As fish cannot survive without water, our opposition feels the same without power."
Soren accused the BJP of importing leaders from other states to create communal tensions. "When local BJP leaders failed in Jharkhand, they started bringing in leaders from Chhattisgarh, Assam, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh to stir up communal discord," he asserted.
The JMM leader also alleged that the BJP was creating obstacles in implementing welfare schemes. "They’re trying to prevent the benefits of our schemes from reaching the people," Soren said, vowing to "drive out our opposition from Jharkhand forever" in the upcoming elections.
Soren further accused the BJP of being anti-tribal, stating, "These people have exploited tribals and backward communities for centuries. Now that we’re becoming ministers and chief ministers, they’re uncomfortable."
The Chief Minister highlighted his government’s efforts, including the transfer of money to 50 lakh people through the Mainyaan Sammaj Yojana. However, he claimed that opposition members have filed a court case against this initiative.
Soren concluded by criticizing the BJP’s stance on employment policies, alleging double standards in their approach to similar laws in BJP-ruled states versus Jharkhand.
