Tata Motors Offers Rs 95 Lakh Compensation and Employment to Family of Deceased Employee

In the aftermath of a fatal accident at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant, the company’s management, union officials, and the family of the deceased employee reached an agreement on compensation.

JAMSHEDPUR – The family of Arun Kumar, a deceased employee of the Tata Motors Jamshedpur plant, will receive a compensation package of Rs 95 lakh, according to an agreement signed between the company management, union officials, and the victim’s family.

Arun Kumar tragically died in an accident at the plant on Saturday. Post discussions, a consensus was reached, and the settlement was signed.

As part of the agreement, the management has committed to providing a permanent job in the JO grade to Arun Kumar’s son, Aman Kumar, following a one-year probation period. Aman Kumar is presently undertaking a Diploma course at NTTF.

Ravindra Kulkarni, the Plant Head of Tata Motors, personally presented the agreement letter to Lalita Kumari, Arun Kumar’s widow.

The family is set to receive a total of Rs 95 lakh and 6 thousand, comprising Rs 34 lakh and 6 thousand from the service fund, and Rs 61 lakh from insurance.

The sum will be disbursed in two installments over the span of a year, with an immediate payment of one lakh rupees offered for funeral expenses.

Upon receiving news of the job and compensation offer from the management, the family began preparations for the final rites of the deceased. It is worth mentioning that Arun Kumar suffered a severe head injury during an accident within the testing department of the plant. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment late at night.

The agreement signing was witnessed by several notable personalities, including JMM MLA Mangal Kalindi, JMM Block Vice President Prakash Sahai, former Jamshedpur District President of Congress Ramashray Prasad, and others.
