Tata Steel Leaders Celebrate Completion of Van Mahotsav Week in Jamshedpur

Van Mahotsav week in Jamshedpur concludes with more than seven thousand trees planted across the city.

JAMSHEDPUR – The week-long Van Mahotsav celebration in Jamshedpur, which commenced on July 1, 2023, concluded with a grand ceremony.

Rituraj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel Utility Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL), and Pranay Sinha, Chief (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel, graced the event as Chief Guests.

The closing ceremony was held at Sidhgora Teak Plantation and Agrico Nature Trail.

Throughout the week, over seven thousand trees were planted across Jamshedpur, with the city’s residents actively participating in this green initiative.

The newly planted trees, which included a wide variety of species such as Neem, Karanj, Acacia, and Jarul among others, have found their homes in Agrico Nature Trail, Sidhgora Teak Plantation, and various other locations.

The planting effort was spearheaded by Tata Steel’s Corporate Administration group.

In a unique effort, over 30 journalists from various media outlets also participated in the planting drive on the penultimate day of Van Mahotsav 2023, marking the first collaboration between Tata Steel and the local press for such a cause.

Tata Steel has made a firm commitment to preserve, enhance, and rehabilitate local biodiversity wherever it operates, and this policy guides its long-term planning and daily operations.
