Parents of the late Nishant Agarwal donate his eyes posthumously, providing the gift of sight to two people, facilitated by the Marwari Mahila Manch in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – Following the sudden demise of Nishant Agarwal, a 28-year-old resident of New Baradwari, his parents took the noble decision of donating his eyes. His parents, Dr. R. K. Agarwal, a practicing pediatrician, and Anita Agarwal, offered this donation with the assistance of the Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM), a women’s organization in Jamshedpur.
According to MMM Jamshedpur’s President, Bina Agarwal, this act of generosity ensures that Nishant’s legacy continues as his eyes bring light into the lives of two individuals, helping them see the world once more.
The donation process was facilitated by President Roshni, Secretary Parvinder, Taru Gandhi, and Ophthalmologist Dr. Vivek Kedia. Bina Agarwal extended her gratitude to Nishant’s family, the Roshni Sanstha, and Dr. Kedia for their role in this benevolent act. This information was shared by Sushila Khirwal from MMM.
MMM has a longstanding commitment to promoting eye donations in Jamshedpur and has significantly simplified the process of organ donation over the years. Sushila Khirwal, in explaining the rationale behind their work, stated that after death, people are either cremated or buried, so if the donation of eyes can provide vision to two individuals, it is an act of immense virtue.
MMM offers support and guidance to anyone willing to donate the eyes of their loved ones. The organization operates free of charge and stands by its motto "Blood donation while alive, eye donation after death". Sushila Khirwal also mentioned that many more individuals await such acts of selfless giving, hoping for the gift of sight.
