Jamshedpur Authorities Launch Anti-Encroachment Drive in Sakchi

District Police, JNAC, and Tata Steel join hands to clear roads; awareness campaign to be followed by strict action

In a bid to tackle the growing menace of encroachment on roads in Jamshedpur, the district administration, in collaboration with Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and Tata Steel, launched a joint campaign in the Sakchi area on Friday.

JAMSHEDPUR – The anti-encroachment drive, which started from Sakchi Roundabout, covered Thakurbari Road, Ambagan, and Delhi Darbar before concluding back at the roundabout.

The operation was led by a strong contingent of police officials, including City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, City DSP Sudhir Kumar, Traffic DSP Sanjay Singh, and Sakchi police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar, along with the Deputy Municipal Commissioner of JNAC.

A separate drive was also conducted in the Sakchi market to remove encroachments.

Speaking about the initiative, City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat said, "We have been receiving numerous complaints regarding encroachment, and in response, we have launched this campaign today, which will continue in the future."

On the first day of the campaign, the authorities focused on raising awareness among the public and warned them against encroaching on public spaces.

"For the next week, we will continue to educate people about the importance of keeping roads and public spaces free from encroachment. After that, appropriate action will be initiated against violators," added Lunayat.

The joint effort by the district police, JNAC, and Tata Steel aims to send a strong message to encroachers and ensure that the roads and public spaces in Jamshedpur remain accessible and free from illegal occupancy.

The administration has also urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities and refrain from encroaching on public property, as it not only causes inconvenience to others but also hinders the smooth flow of traffic and poses a safety risk.

As the anti-encroachment drive gains momentum, the people of Jamshedpur can expect to see a noticeable improvement in the city’s road infrastructure and a more organized and clutter-free public space in the coming weeks.
